Interventional Radiologists

Interventional radiology is a medical sub-specialty of radiology which uses minimally-invasive, image-guided procedures. These procedures have less risk, less pain and less recovery time in comparison to open surgery.

What is an Interventional Radiologist?

Interventional radiologists are trained to use image-guided technology such as X-rays, computed tomography (CT) scans and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to treat patients non-surgically. An interventional radiologist has received several years of additional specialized training in diagnostic and interventional radiology procedures in additional to the radiology specialty.
